Postcard from Back Home: The Summer Intensive Wrap Up

Last Friday's Emergence performance was a fitting conclusion to Milwaukee Ballet's
Summer Intensive
program. This year around 165 students arrived from all over the country and beyond to train with our top-notch faculty and take a huge step towards a career in dance. These students spent 6 days a week in the studio, taking classes such as Partnering, Technique, Style (African and Spanish) and Men's class (a luxury for our male students when you take into account that most of their home studios are too small to necessitate a class just for them).

Now the studios are strangely quiet as the students have returned home with a  further developed set of skills, new friends and hopefully warm memories. We thought it would be fun for you to hear about the Summer Intensive experience from our students' biggest fans, their parents, in their own words. Enjoy!

"I was amazed at the quality of the Emergence performances. The training is top-notch, and Emergence was far and away better than the end of summer program in Boston."

"We can not say enough about the quality of the teaching staff. [My daughter] thoroughly enjoyed what each of them taught her. Her teachers have already seen improvement.
Thank you."

"The time designated to ballet training and the quality of staff was exceptional --
best summer intensive experience to date."

"Milwaukee Ballet's Summer Intensive has the most qualified faculty. We are highly impressed by the faculty and the abilities of the students in all [levels]."

Many parents also expressed their gratitude to Milwaukee Ballet for the special attention we pay to  students' health and safety. We'd like to thank our friends at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin for caring for ALL of our dancers.
