The Sports Medicine Center at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin and the Nancy Einhorn Milwaukee Ballet II Program
Milwaukee Ballet greatly appreciates the services of the Sports Medicine Center at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin. The Sports Medicine Center is a provider of services for numerous athletic organizations throughout Milwaukee, including the Milwaukee Brewers, and also generously donates their services to Milwaukee Ballet and the Nancy Einhorn Milwaukee Ballet II Program.
The Sports Medicine Center has physicians who are fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine. The staff includes specialists in orthopaedic surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as family and community medicine. In the unfortunate event of an injury, the Froedtert & The Medical College staff aids dancers in their recovery. Using the latest equipment and treatment techniques, athletic trainers and physical therapists focus on getting young dancers back into shape and back into rehearsals at an appropriate time.
The Sports Medicine Center is also home to the Performance Enhancement Program (PEP) which uses proven training techniques and state-of-the-art equipment to help maximize athletic potential. The PEP Program is tailored to each individual athletes sport and objectives to reach their optimal athletic performance. For dancers, PEP Program staff members offer the Dance Medicine Program to prevent, diagnose and treat common injuries among dancers while providing valuable training techniques to optimize performance.
All of the services of The Sports Medicine Center at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin are donated. Any additional expenses related to a Milwaukee Ballet II injury (i.e. x-rays, ambulance cost) are covered by Travelers Insurance, Milwaukee Ballet’s Worker’s Comp Insurance carrier.
In addition to the services listed above, Milwaukee Ballet’s team physicians are Dr. William Raasch, Medical College of Wisconsin Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director of the Sports Medicine Center and Dr. Craig Young, Medical College of Wisconsin Sports Medicine Family Medicine Physician. Dr. Raasch and Dr. Young perform both pre and post-season physicals in an effort to promote good preventative medicine and to stress the importance of excellent overall health among our dancers.
