Dancer, teacher and choreographer, Mr. Schoch, known as Diego Carrasco at the time, was a principal dancer with Milwaukee Ballet, performing with the Company for 12 years from 1991-2003. During that time, he also taught for the Milwaukee Ballet School, as well as working with other organizations and individuals within the Milwaukee dance community as dancer, choreographer, teacher, and/or student. Prior to joining Milwaukee Ballet, Mr. Schoch was a member of the North Carolina Dance Theater where he danced in numerous works by choreographer and Artistic Director, Salvatore Aiello. He currently teaches and choreographs at his alma mater, the School of Dance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a member of the Contemporary Dance Faculty. His newest work, the duet A Place Apart, was the subject of a workshop held by the Lincoln Center Institute for the Arts in Education. Mr. Schoch is a Stager for the Salvatore Aiello Trust, holds an MFA from the University of Iowa, and a BFA from UW-Milwaukee, and, prior to his move to North Carolina, was an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
