Surprise! We can turn a gym, library, or community center into a theater, complete with special dance flooring, a sound system, costumes and the Milwaukee Ballet II dancers. It’s most appropriate for grades Pre-K through 8 and will incorporate Common Core State Standards. Ballet-in-a-Box costs $500.
What’s the ballet about?
If you have been following Milwaukee Ballet’s adventures, you are familiar with our ballet superheroes, The Corps of 4 and Ballerina Karina. In 2019, they have important business to attend to in Danceopolis, where they live, train, and stay in shape. But fear not! The superheroes will be back with Episode 4 of their saga for Milwaukee Ballet’s 50th Anniversary season (2019-20), ready to celebrate with their leader, King Louis XIV, for a golden gala extravaganza.
In the meantime, a new show debuts about a a detective who must unravel the mysteries of the ballet world in a whodunit that will require audiences to solve clues. Learn the ins-and-outs of ballet, including vocabulary and musicality, in this interactive performance.
With gratitude, Ballet-in-a-Box is supported by Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Gerda A. Debelak Fund, Marvin W. Haesle Fund for the Arts, Marjorie & Joseph Heil Fund, Paula M. Steiner Family Foundation, Milwaukee Arts Board, Gene & Ruth Posner Foundation, Charles D. Ortgiesen Foundation, and the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors’ Youth Foundation.
