Action/Reaction Workshop

Action/Reaction is a fun and active workshop where our staff and dancers use games to teach the basics of choreography. We explore dance space and artistic expression. Best for grades 4 through 8, is available year-round and includes an instructor and two to four dancers.

Ballet Storytime

Spice up storytime by bringing ballet books such as “Talulah’s Nutcracker” by Marilyn Singer or “My Friend Maya Loves to Dance” by Cheryl Willis Hudson to life with the help of our Milwaukee Ballet II dancers to teach ballet basics from the stories. Best for grades Pre-K through grade 2, is available year-round, and includes an instructor and one to two dancers.

The Ballet Fitness Challenge!

Flex those muscles through exercises focused on strength, balance, flexibility, agility, speed, and coordination. This workshop addresses the importance of health and exercise, demonstrating that a dancer’s work is just as demanding as a professional athlete’s – and it’s a lot tougher than it looks. Best for grades 4 through 8, is available year-round, and includes an instructor and two to four dancers.

All-Access: A Day in the Life

Dancers take the audience through their day with a demonstration of ballet class and a pointe and partnering demo. Hear the music used in ballet class, feel a section of Marley flooring, and gain a sense of what the life of a dancer entails. The sessions ends with a Q&A featuring the dancers. Best for grades 3 through adult – perfect for senior centers, is available year-round, and includes an instructor and two to six dancers.

All-Access: Inside JPC

A unique field trip where students visit Milwaukee Ballet headquarters at the Jodi Peck Center. Watch the dancers warm-up and rehearse in the studio and visit the costume shop to learn how costumes are made. Best for grades 1 through adult, is available September through May.

All-Access: Inside JPC costs minimum of $30 – $3 per person for groups larger than 10.
