THE STORY

The Tannenbaum children embark on a journey to a fantastical world created by the mysterious magician Drosselmeyer. Their holiday gifts come to life during their travels with the Nutcracker Prince protecting them from the evil Rat King.

THE MUSIC

Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra plays Tchaikovsky’s iconic score live. Experience the wonder of the world-famous suites, including “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” “Waltz of the Flowers,” and “March of The Nutcracker.”

THE CAST

The Nutcracker features a cast of more than 150 dancers, including students from the Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy!  See which artists will be dancing the principal roles in each show.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Running time is approximately 90 minutes with one intermission. This ballet is recommended for all adults and children aged 4 and older. Generally, if your child can pay attention to a full-length movie in a cinema, they will probably be able to enjoy the show.

New Nutcracker in 2023!

The Nutcracker has been a cherished holiday tradition for generations of Wisconsin families! The appeal of this magical story has never waned and continues to attract new audiences each year. However, after 25 years, the current Milwaukee Ballet production has outlived its usable life, with costumes and sets beyond continued repair. This provides us with an exciting opportunity to breathe new life into the timeless classic.
