Pre-Professional Training Program

Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy offers a robust Pre-Professional Training Program led and created by Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy and Milwaukee Ballet II Director Rolando Yanes.

Intended for recent high school grads and high school students with alternative academic study options, the Pre-Professional Training Program offers daily intensive training to prepare young dancers for a second-company experience. The Pre-Professional Training Program educates, trains and prepares students for a career in professional dance.

Audition & Enrollment

Students must be advanced level dancers in high school or post-high school.  Ladies must have at least 4 years of intensive pointe training.

Auditions for the 2020-21 Pre-Professional Training Program will take place during the 2020 Summer Intensive Program.

Students may also attend the following early audition

Wednesday, February 5 | 9:30-11:00am
Baumgartner Center for Dance | 128 N Jackson St, Milwaukee

Attire:  Black leotard, pink tights, ballet and pointe shoes for ladies.  Fitted white t-shirt, black tights and ballet shoes for men.

Bring: Dance resume (must include age, academic grade and dance experience), head shot (school pictures accepted) and cover letter addressed to MBSA Director Rolando Yanes which explains your desire to attend the Pre-Professional Training Program.

9:30-11:00am | Ballet
11:15am-12:15pm | Pointe or Men’s Class
12:15-1:15pm | Style, Varies (Partnering, Variations, non-ballet)
1:15-2:15pm | Lunch Break
2:15-3:45pm | Rehearsals

Tuesday & Thursday
9:30-11:00am | Ballet

2020-21 Tuition

September – May | 9 monthly payments of $805 | September tuition is due at the time of registration.
Includes all classes, rehearsals, all costumes and performance participation.
Financial assistance is not yet available. Please check back for more information later this summer.
Students must secure their own housing, food, transportation, dance attire and shoes.
