6-week Pre-Professional Summer Intensive Program

The Pre-Professional 6-week Summer Intensive Program is based at our Baumgartner Center for Dance studio location in downtown Milwaukee (128 N Jackson St). Subject to change.

  • A concentrated, comprehensive course for serious pre-professionals age 11-22 who have attained an intermediate to advance level of ballet technique.
  • Outstanding international faculty including Artistic Director Michael Pink, MBII Artistic Director Mireille Favarel, Company Rehearsal Directors Luz San Miguel and Denis Malinkine, Choreographer in Residence & MBII Rehearsal Director Timothy O’Donnell, Milwaukee Ballet Company dancers, MBSA Faculty, Roxy Fair and Yaya Kambaye, and several other special guest artists.
  • Challenging daily classes including Ballet, Pointe, Men’s Work, and Variations.
  • Dynamic style classes including Flamenco, Modern, African, Musical Theater, and Hip Hop.
  • Daily rehearsals for Emergence, a showcase performance with original choreography by faculty and guest teachers.
  • High school students and recent graduates are eligible to audition for the Rolando Yanes’ Pre-Professional Program, a year-round day training program for the 2022-23 school year.
  • High school graduates placed into Tech 8 are eligible to audition for the upcoming season of the prestigious Milwaukee Ballet II Program. More than 40% of the dancers in Milwaukee Ballet Company completed the Milwaukee Ballet II Program.
  • Students attending from more than 20 states and five countries.
Program Housing
  • Supervised accommodations at Milwaukee School of Engineering’s dorm-style housing at the newly renovated Hermann Viets Tower in Downtown Milwaukee
  • A full meal plan at MSOE’s Campus Center Dining Commons is included
  • Transportation included to and from housing accommodations
  • Enjoyable evening and weekend activities
Health & Safety Policies

At this time, there are no requirements for Milwaukee Ballet 2023 Summer Intensive Program attendees to submit proof of vaccination. In the event that a student becomes symptomatic, tests positive, or is close contact with another positive individual, testing and/or masking requirements may be imposed as deemed appropriate by Milwaukee Ballet’s Health & Safety Committee.

Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy is currently operating with mask-optional policies for students and faculty. Masking and testing requirements are subject to change in relation to community and school COVID-19 caseloads. All students should still plan to provide their own masks in the event that this policy is updated.

Milwaukee Ballet reserves the right to update, amend, and change these policies as dictated by CDC guidelines and any other federal, state, or local mandates related to COVID-19.

6-week Pre-Professional Program Fees

6-week Tuition | $3,230

A non-refundable $500 tuition deposit (applied towards the $3230 total) and $25 registration fee are required to reserve your student’s place in the program at the time of registration.

MSOE Housing & Meals | $3,450

A non-refundable $500 housing deposit (applied towards the $3450 total) is required to reserve your student’s housing and meals at the time of registration.
