Marie Collins was born and raised in Hong Kong where she began dancing at age four.  She attended Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) where she danced in Les Sylphides, Swan Lake (Black Swan pas de deux), The Four Temperaments, and Persistent Memory. She also performed with the Hong Kong Ballet, including their tour of Swan Lake throughout China. Collins won the Hong Kong Open Dance Competition (Ballet) in 2007 and 2009, among other awards. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance-Performance at Butler University, where she danced as Dew Drop and Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, Princess Florine in Sleeping Beauty, Odile in Swan Lake, and appeared in George Balanchine’s Valse Fantasies and Gerald Arpino’s Viva Vivaldi. She also danced in a special performance of Marek Cholewa’s Displacements in Bratislava, Slovakia. This is her third season with Milwaukee Ballet.
