Milwaukee Ballet’s Health & Safety Committee has overseen the development of rigorous health and safety procedures for safe operations within the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the committee’s guidance, Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy successfully hosted an in-person Summer Intensive program in July 2020 and has operated successfully in-person since. We performed to in-person audiences beginning in December 2020 and to date, have had no reported on-site transmission of COVID-19.
The COVID-19 Safety Plan is designed specifically to ensure the safe operation of the We Energies Foundation Performance Studio at Baumgartner Center for Dance.
The Health & Safety protocols outlined below will continue to be updated as local COVID transmissions and case loads change. Please check back for the most up-to-date information.
Audience Entry Protocols
All patrons age 12 and older attending a performance at Baumgartner Center for Dance are required to show either a proof of vaccination or a negative covid-19 test result.
Additional details and conditions can be found on the Audience Entry Protocols page.

Arrival Time
Please make careful note of the theater opening time for your specific performance, as noted in your pre-show information. If staggered entry times are in use, your assigned entry time will be noted on your ticket and within pre-show communication.
Arriving on time, and not sooner, will help to ensure that the number of people in the building is within the approved threshold. Please remain in your vehicle until the opening time or your scheduled entry time.
Entering Baumgartner Center for Dance
Show attendees must enter Baumgartner Center for Dance via the main entrance located on North Jackson Street. Upon entry, guests will be asked to show proof of vaccination OR negative COVID-19 test result from within past 72 hours and produce a digital or printed ticket.
Check-in will occur within the Atrium or Community Studio to allow for ample space and social distancing.
Following check-in guests will be directed to the appropriate entrance into the We Energies Foundation Performance Studio.
Ticket & Seat Assignments
Each ticket and seat will be assigned to a specific quadrant within the theater. Quadrants will be identified at corresponding theater entrances and within the theater seating area.
Guests are asked to remain in their seats while in the theater and to be respectful of other patrons’ personal space while entering or exiting their seat.
Coat Check
Complimentary, self-serve coat racks are available.
ADA Seating & Accomodations
The We Energies Foundation Performance Studio provides accessible and companion seats. Patrons requiring additional accommodations will be given expedited access to and from the studio and seats.
Please advise a Milwaukee Ballet representative if you or someone in your party require assistance or support.
Dancer & Performance Safety
Dancers may be unamsked while performing. All Milwaukee Ballet dancers are fully vaccinated and remain committed to continuous precautions for the safety of one another, staff, and guests.
Sanitation & Filtration
Extra measures will be taken to disinfect all theater seats and touchpoints, along with the restrooms, before and after all performances and rehearsals.
Hand sanitizing stations are available, as well as appropriate sanitizing soap in the restrooms.
Milwaukee Ballet has taken extra precautions with the HVAC system. MERV 13 filters have been added to all rooftop and inside filters.
