Updates due to COVID-19

Thank you for your patience as we work through an ever-changing situation and make plans we believe to be in the best interest of our students, art form, and community. Our goal is to host our 2020 Summer Intensive Program in person in our new Baumgartner Center for Dance. Late last week UW-Milwaukee advised us that it has closed its dorms through end July. Therefore, we are planning the following changes to the program:

  • July 6 to 31 (four weeks instead of June 22 start for 6 weeks)
  • No housing or meal plans available
  • No transport to studios provided
  • Updated tuition of $2,000 for four weeks (all four weeks required)
  • Maximum 15 students per studio/tech level
  • No excursions or end-of-program performance
  • Our previous 3-week program will become the 4-week program.
  • All final payments and required documents are due June 15, 2020.

Our team is doing its utmost to plan for this modified, in-person program. However, if we need to change course due to CDC, local, state, or federal guidelines, an update will be announced no later than June 15.

New Health & Safety Protocols

The safety of our students and staff is our primary concern. As such, Milwaukee Ballet, in consultation with members of the medical community, Company dancers, and CDC and local guidelines, is developing strict protocols for program participation. These will include (but are not limited to):

  • Temperature and symptoms screening and Q&A every day prior to entry
  • Mandatory wearing of Milwaukee Ballet-approved masks during class and throughout the building (cost of masks are additional)
  • Physical distancing of min. 6 feet in studios, during breaks, and throughout building
  • No use of lockers or common areas (lunch eaten outside)
  • Adjusted class curriculum (e.g. more breaks, no partnering)
  • Consistent class groupings with teacher
  • Enhanced and increased cleaning and sanitizing routines.

Please review this protocols document for additional information.
