Whether a young dancer just starting out, or a serious student looking to maintain their training, classes and sessions are available throughout the summer at each of the MBSA branches.
Children's Division
AGES 2-6 // This summer, let your little ones experience classical ballet preparation in inspiring, creative classes! Emphasizing coordination development, rhythm, body awareness, and ballet class etiquette, classes feature imaginative and age-appropriate activities presented in a welcoming, nurturing, and professional environment.
All children in Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet levels must be fully toilet trained and comfortable entering the classroom without an adult.
Dance Along With Me, Ages 2-4
Dance Along with Me is designed as an introduction to dance for our littlest dancers, aged 2-4 years old. Students and their adult participate in this class together. Class sessions are typically 6 weeks long.

Creative Movement, Age 3
Creative Movement introduces elements of dance with a professional instructor in a studio environment. Based on creativity, musicality, and imagination, students gain awareness of elements of dance before entering the Pre-Ballet program. Classes meet once weekly.

Students develop body and simple muscle awareness, strengthen locomotor skills, and are introduced to basic ballet posture and some techniques. Classes meet once per week.

More emphasis is placed on right and left, pointed feet, and straight legs within the classical posture and discipline. Upon completion of Pre-Ballet III, students should be prepared to start formal ballet training in Ballet I. Classes meet once per week.

Junior Ballet Intensive
Live the life of a professional dancer this summer! Ballet, character, variations, jazz, dance history, nutrition, injury prevention, stretching, and strengthening are some of the classes that will extend your training this summer. Take one, two, or three sessions.
For intermediate students ages 9-13 with at least 3 years of ballet class experience. Current MBSA students should have completed Ballet III, Ballet IV, or Ballet V.
Academy Maintenance
Advanced ballet and pointe for students who have at least 3 years of serious pointe experience and boys in the equivalent level, or for students registered for Milwaukee Ballet’s Pre-Professional 6-week Summer Intensive Program.
